Bristol City’s Harbourside was once a run-down docks area but has been transformed into a world-class venue with many attractions. Stroll around the water’s edge and you will find Millennium Square acting as a fantastic central hub, with its fountains and big screen, as well as world-class attractions such as SS Great Britain, We the Curious, Bristol Aquarium and M Shed. You can even see a couple of Banksy artworks around the harbourside, including The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum by Bristol Marina or The Grim Reaper on display at M Shed. Whilst here, we enjoy a cruise around the fascinating harbour and have time for lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the city and maybe enjoy some retail therapy.

We have a free day to explore our base of Wells. Perhaps visit the historic cathedral opposite our hotel, famous for being one of the first Gothic-styled cathedrals in Britain and home to a large collection of stained glass. Take a stroll down Vicar’s Close, believed to be England’s only complete Medieval Street left intact. There is also the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens, home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years.
Sherborne is without doubt one of England’s most beautiful towns with an abundance of medieval buildings, a superb Abbey, Alms-house, and two castles to explore. Later, we visit Shaftesbury, an ancient hilltop town famous as the home of the cobbled Gold Hill, featured in the Hovis adverts.
