Are you a fan of The Belgrave Sands Hotel, Torquay?  If so, then we are sure you will love this hotel, located on Dartmoor and owned by the same people as The Belgrave Sands.

Steeped in history, this is where Agatha Christie wrote her first novel during a two week stay: Sir Tommy Flowers visited regularly after a demanding career at Bletchley Park during WWII, where he invented the Colossus machine:Ava Gardner, Robert Taylor and Mel Ferrer have all been guests here.

Excursions Included

  • Teignmouth - a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of River Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a holiday.
  • Exeter -  Pre-dating the arrival of the Romans in AD 50, Exeter’s history is rich and long. This is reflected in its fascinating visitor attractions including its unique Underground Passages, free Red Coat Guided Tours, magnificent Cathedral imposing Roman wall and beautiful Quayside. Exeter is also home to the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum where visitors can explore the city’s 2,000-year history under one roof! Exeter has a real sense of individuality, its varied cultural scene is embraced by proud locals, and the diverse mix of eateries means it is renowned as one of the foodie capitals of the South West. Head to the West Quarter or the cobbled Gandy Street to discover great mix of independant shops, cafes and bars.
  • Tavistock -  a flourishing, beautifully friendly town that is worthy of any visitor, the ancient stannary town possesses world heritage status setting this town apart. The vibrancy and uniqueness of Tavistock is undeniable with a a range of beautiful local independent shops which are a far cry from today's typical high street. Not to be overlooked is the famous pannier market, it is truly a shoppers paradise. Whether you come to experience the wonderful architecture, the unique shops, the amazing locally produced food or the breathtaking Dartmoor I can guarantee Tavistock will not disappoint.

With numerous exhibitions and markets taking place throughout the year, as well as a great range of attractions and activities both in Dartmouth and nearby, there is always something happening in this vibrant harbour town. If it’s food you love, there is no better place to immerse yourself in Devon’s local produce, from seafood to ice-cream and fudge, the town is a food-lovers paradise. The Moorland Hotel

The Moorland Hotel is now fully open following its first refurbishment since 1960. Set at the base of Haytor on Dartmoor, The Moorland Hotel boasts 11 acres of landscaped grounds, paddock and woodland, Wild ponies are often found grazing nearby and open expanse of the moor provides breathtaking views.

The hotel is aiming for a 4 star rating with a 2 rosettes award for the restaurant.  All of the exceptionally stylish bedrooms are en-suite with walk-in showers and finished using the highest quality furnishings.  All bedrooms are equipped with TV, digital safe, mini-fridge, hairdryer, dressing gowns & slippers and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel offers a Conservatory Restaurant with a fine dining experience, live entertainment on at least 3 nights of your stay, spectacular views for a relaxing break away and a lift, however, this may not serve all bedrooms.
