'Door to door'
A fantastic Pembrokeshire and County Wexford twin centre holiday is a great way to experience the stunning coasts and medieval castles of two contrasting waterfront destinations with fascinating attractions to explore.
Sunday: After joining our coach we enjoy our outward journey making suitable stops en- route Cardigan and on to The Cliff Hotel & Spa at Gwbert for our 3 night stay.
Monday: Today we enjoy a guided tour of enormous Pembroke Castle, mighty fortress and birthplace of Henry VII, a statue of whom was recently erected nearby. During our tour we discover the history behind the castle and how it was extensively restored during Victorian times. Following this visit we enjoy some free time in the walled town of Pembroke before heading back to the hotel.
Tuesday: Today we head south making a stop in the small seaside town of Saundersfoot, where we enjoy some free time. Following this stop we continue to the picture postcard seaside resort of Tenby, where we can explore its medieval streets, picturesque harbour and golden sands. We return to the hotel in time for dinner.
Wednesday: This morning we leave The Cliff Hotel & Spa and make our way to charming St. David’s, the smallest city in Britain, where we enjoy a short time to explore. We then head for Fishguard in time to board our ferry for the afternoon sailing to Rosslare, Ireland. Upon arrival in Rosslare we re-join our coach and travel the short distance to the Talbot Hotel, Wexford, our base for the next 3 nights.
Thursday: We spend today in medieval Kilkenny. We take time to visit Kilkenny Castle, built by the Normans in the 12th century and one of the most magnificent castles in Ireland. We then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in this compact medieval city whose attractions include Smithwick’s Experience and St. Canice’s Cathedral.
Friday: We enjoy the journey to Ireland’s oldest city, Waterford, where we visit the famous House of Waterford Crystal and enjoy a guided tour of the factory. Following this visit we enjoy some free time in Waterford. In the afternoon we return to Wexford, with its small boutiques, cobbled streets and traditional pubs, where we have time to explore at leisure.
Saturday: Following an early breakfast we leave the hotel and take the morning ferry from Rosslare back to Fishguard from where we continue our journey home.
